(1) Brent and Drummers only.

Half-Step begins somewhat slow, but ends on a strong note before Jerry strums the intro to a up tempo Franklin's, where Brent excels, and Jerry crushes the final jam! The fun isn't over, they do a short, smooth segue into Mama Tried! Then, to quote Swami, the Mexicali is a "galloping cowboy", great beat and some different stuff out of Jerome. Althea finishes strong, and goes right into a generally plodding Rooster that does feature a nice Jerry solo. A psychedelic Bobby punctuates in Candyman, which also has a weaving, moderately water-toned Jerry solo. Easy To Love You is, also as Swami pointed out, a nice change of pace from otherwise country genre songs. Strong intro, and a nice Brent solo make it a keeper. A sweet Jerry flourish matches up perfectly to the Let It Grow intro. The second jam is the hoped for noodlefest we expect, Jerry keeps the intensity there through the remainder of the song. Great LIG in a year of great LIGs. Jerry is ready to Deal right out of LIG, and they close the set in solid rock 'n' roll style.

Brent shines in a set opening Stranger, Swami aptly pointed out you won't find this at the local discotheque! I'm not typically a fan of a 2nd set High Time, but this one hits the spot with some precision Phil bombs closer to the end. Another nice intro starts off the Sailor Saint combo, setting sail on a pristine sea. Brent and Phil work as a great pair behind Jerry's solos. X factor will set in during the outro to Sailor, as Jerry lashes the mast. Great gain on his guitar for Saint's intro keeps things rolling. Saint goes in and out of X factor, they're on the precipice of amazing. A+ Sailor>Saint, punctuation mark on the Circumstantial Jam once again dipping into the magical X factor zone! Bob tries to go He's Gone out of that! Jerry realizes that would be over the top, his gift, but Brent stays out with the drummers anyhow.
After an interesting Drums and short Space which doesn't allow the drummers to break, He's Gone does get its turn. The outro is short and feeds right into Truckin', another great intro. Jerry is on point for this rendition, and Bob hits the lyrics, as the guitars win the day, especially in the build up and explosion which hits the X factor again. Gain guitar Jerry solos the hell out of the outro jam before slowing it down for via gain for a poignant yet underachieving Black Peter. Around and Around is somewhat of a train wreck, but JBG comes to its rescue. While there is a sloppy moment, this is a kick ass JBG, with Jerry once again taking the reins.
Brokedown is a mediocre send off on a night that had way more ups than downs.

Performance Summary
The first set starts and ends strong, the Althea>Rooster, Candyman segment being a boring outlier. The second set, however, has no chinks in its armour. The Sailor>Saint is clearly the highlight of pre-drums, capped off with an extended Circumstantial Jam. The energy drops off in the post-space other than the Truckin' and the JBG.

Sound Quality
The official release of Download Series #7 is perfect.
Swami co-listened with me, using the Wise AUD. His thoughts, " Jerry's guitar is too dominating in the mix and the bass is low and muddy. Midrange is too high. Mediocre Audience - but still better than the poor Bob Morris source which I briefly sampled."

First four songs of each set are phenomenal...then each set tails off a bit I felt. Great little Circumstantial Jam.

Even the blind man knows when the rain is falling.

Yes, the highlight of the show would be the Saint>Circumstancial Jam.
I wouldn't say the LIG>Deal is anywhere near "tailing off", nor the JBG.

There was the lull in the 1st set that Easy to Love You seems to have broken... that's 3 songs of lull, definitely acceptable in the 1st set. Around x2 was a let down in the post-space, but the JBG made up for it.
