So, I remember having a thread like this, but I am thinking it was probably at the original Speeding Arrow site back in the day...
I will start it off...
Which states did the GD never perform live in? |

I don't think they played Arkansas either.
Jerry's finger? At the knuckle. Santa Cruz mountains near Boulder Creek. |

DUDE!!!!
12/19/78! You were the one who shined my light on that KILLER Stella>NFA...great show all around.
Delaware is another state, the only reason I know that is cause when I went to see Furthur play there I heard an interview with Bobby asking him how he felt about performing in Delaware for the first time.

Lowell George played guitar (some of the greatest slide ever), wrote songs, and sang in the band Little Feat. They were an unbefuckinliveable live band!!!
Garcia loved what blues guitar player who wrote the song 'Hideaway"? |

Hint
Garica has referred to this guitarist as one who influenced him.
The Grateful Dead covered Hideaway twice.
First time at the Harding Theater on 11-7-71 and then again on 6-21-89 at the Shoreline. |

Close but no cigar, Duck.
Good guess, Willie Dixon actually was a contemporary of our mystery bluesman nicknamed 'the Texas Cannonball" (hint hint).
He purportedly influenced not only Jerry Garcia but also Eric Clapton (who has regularly covered the tune Hideaway) as well as Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Mike Bloomfield and others.
Hideaway was a top 40 crossover hit in 1961. It was #1 on the blues & R& B chart for months before that.
I read somewhere that Garcia love this guy's style, which included some unique thumb and finger picking as well as his propenisty to push into a more exporatory territory, a more aggressive and creative style of improvisation which was different than many of the other blues guitar players of the day |

I saw the Freddie King reference in Wikipedia, but thought it was vague so I said Willie Dixon.
Keith Olsen took the tapes to England and ruined Terrapin Station. I forget if it was the London Symphony or what. Was it the same room full of stiffs that ruined Let It Be when Phil Spector took the tapes for his "special touch"?
I'm too lazy to check Wikipedia on this one. |

I've got a trivia question even I don't know the answer to.
Without a Net features a Help On the Way from 1990... but they mixed in the voice of Jerry from a different year. What HOTW is his voice taken from? _________________ "JOKING?! Is it 10/9/89?
Gopher - yes, my bad, I forgot about that 12/19/78 show. Had to be the only time they played there? So its North Dakota, Delaware and Arkansas?
When did Jerry and Phil switch sides (Brent era). Specific show/tour please _________________ We used to play for acid, now we play for Clive. |

No don't think so. His voice sounds like it has to be from somewhere around 76-77. It's weird because then when it goes into Franklin's Tower, its back to his 1990 voice. _________________ "JOKING?! Here are a couple of pictures of Brent's organ. The first is from '84 (I think). The second is from his final show, 7/23/90. It looks like he had decided to remove most of his stickers by the end. Weird. The sticker I was talking about can be seen in the '84 pic at the top, as well as in an earlier post.

Those look like European based stickers, probably from E '81, which over the years of hard core touring probably got all ratty/bleached out/etc, so he took them down.
Just a guess. |

The player in question is Sanjay Mishra. Nice, pleasant background music. Sadly, JG only plays on three tracks. |

I think the Dude is right about the Jimmy Rodgers tribute. Which coincides with the Blue Yodel #9 mentioned earlier.
And, I looked up the info and pictures I could find to try to date Brent's haircut. From what I can see, it happened sometime between NYE 1980 and 3/10/81. The picture from the 3/10/81 show on dead.net shows Brent with the short hair.
And now, for more trivia...
Give me one of Jerry's nicknames. I always get a chuckle when I hear Rowan introduce him as Spud! |

I have a feeling she stole Kurt Cobain's mojo too. Those two were the poster children for love/hate/destructive relationships. |

How many times did Dona come back to play with the band after 79'? Name the shows to. _________________ "JOKING?! Haha yes its true. Koch I thought you would have been well aware of this so you could avoid those shows . I know there is defiantly one show, and I actually enjoy it a lot (the show, not the fact that she came back). And I think she might have come back twice.

I should have been more specific. How many times did she come back after her and Keith left the band. If no one knows by the end of today I'll drop a little hint. _________________ "JOKING?! Damn I was sure someone would know this.
New Years 1983. You can hear her singing on the Midnight Hour. I know there's another show but I cant remember it now.
Or was I just lied to about this? Now that all of you don't know this I feel like it might not be true haha. _________________ "JOKING?! Sounds like you were fed some misinformation.
According to Deadbase it was Maria Muldaur. Close though! A former member of JGB whose husband played with Garcia.

Looks like this question got lost in the shuffle. The answer is Smoke.
How's about another question?! Who was the creator of many (most) of the GD's speaker covers and tie-dyed stage backdrops? |

Courtenay Pollack. I think.
What Drums in 1987 led directly into a song that starts with Jerry coughing up a loogie? _________________ We used to play for acid, now we play for Clive. |

Got any hints Dude? I don't know '87 that well myself, and it doesn't look like anyone else is stepping up with the answer either. |

We have a winner. Yes, the hairball moment. I was at that show and just thought it was groovy at the time (this was of course my first show after the coma/comeback - I was just happy to have Jerry back). It was kind of hard to be critical at that point!! _________________ We used to play for acid, now we play for Clive. |

Well, I see I know how to kill a good theme. The answer is 1988. Game over? |

Just 1 second I will take up my book .................
............. according to page 4 of Dennis McNally's book (not Jackson's ) "A Long Strange Trip" it was a recognition of Phil's high mental and phisical (???) velocity!
