Has anyone seen the Woodstock footage of the band that popped up a few days ago on LL(then disappeared today)? I watched it last night and it is so freakin wierd. I beleive it is Mama Tried>High Time>Lovelight and two other scenes.....They look so incredibly high, I do not think my words do it justice. At one point it looks like Mickey just completely stops playing during Lovelight sorta loking around, and Bobbys eyes are just buggin out of his head. The first scene is Jerry getting off a helicopter looking like he just did a huge line. i know there is a new Woodstock remaster DVD coming out, and that might be why it got pulled off LL. I dont know. I can up it if anyone wants to se it. Its about 20 min long and truly bizarre.

Hello, I heard that the 'new' Woodstock dvd is remastered with over dubbs of the original songs so that they sound 'better'. I haven't heard that there is any footage of the Dead being added but I've been wrong before. I would love to see it! I never have.
And I would be wrong it seems on the new footage.

1) Mama Tried
2) High Time
3) St. Stephen
4) Acoustic w/ Garcia, & Female muscian*
*For this part of the film its cut away to a scene during the ealier parts of the day. There is a circle around Jerry and an unidentified female playing a guitar an singing a groovey toon. Jerry is jamming with her. Many familiar faces for this segment.
%I believe during Lovelight there is a slight splice, where it skips ahead, i could be wrong. But you hear music over scenery and non concert film, which eventually drifts into the the film of the the band.
This weekend I watched the 40th anniversary Woodstock DVD set. It is up on Demonoid and it is very much worth the huge D/L. It is 18G and has 2 all new DVD's. One of them is the Amazon/Target bonus DVD which has Mama Tried, a tune by Airplane and a tune by Country Joe. The Extras DVD is incredible....CCR, , Johnny Winter, Mountain, Paul Butterfield and the list goes on. The whole Box set has The 2 DVD directors cut of the movie(which i would watch again if you have not seen the full Directors cut), The Extras DVD, and the Amazon Bonus DVD. The whole thing seems to be redone and the picture and sound are way better. I watched the Bonus and the Extras DVD and enjoyed the shit out of it. The footage of The Dead quality wise is very much improved over the original that this thread was initially started about. Mama Tried is on the Bonus and Lovelight is on the Extras. Both are OK, but just seeing the footage is very cool. Also, the footage of Johnny Winter is incredible. At the end of the Extras there is also a whole segment on what they had to go through to get the movie made the way they wanted it made. In other words, fighting Warner Brothers. I had no idea Martin Scorcese was part of the deal. Anyway, this one gets a huge recommendation from me, and if you have the patience it is worth the D/L or definately worth the purchase. I think its $60 on Amazon.......PEace
