This show's set 2 opens with an 18 minute Don't Let Go that goes into a 14 minute I'll Take A Melody. Ms. Godchaux's harmonies are spot on, John Kahn is rock solid. His quasi-solo spot in Don't Let Go is worth a listen or 50. This tune gets NICE and SPACEY, JUST the way i like it! This is a BIG Keith show...he shows off his skills on the ivories at many points...a somewhat better chance here to focus on his jazzy piano stylings than in the Grateful Dead, in which he was sometimes buried in the mix.
This is available in a really good AUD and SBD. i just listened to the AUD cds while doing housework and i'm downloading the SBD as i type...
what a fine, fine era for the JGB ('77-78)!
