Man, I am so sad for Cleveland!! This guy just burned the city to the ground. I mean when the Browns were taken away from C-town there was total devestation. You couldn't even mention Art Modell's name in the city without folks frothing at the mouth and ready to fight you. ( Foodiejohn chime in here!!!) Then there were the Indians, who came sooo close to winning a championship before the team was dismantled. No this!!!!!!

Cleveland may never recover from a sports standpoint or the enourmous economic devistation that this has caused. Before LeCock came to town they were barely pulling 5000 people a night. Now it is all gone, The Indians, who just fucking [CENSORED] this year and the eminent demise of the Cavs will CRUSH the downtown area in an already sad ecomomic situation. The folks I used to work for had a bar right across the street from where the Indians and Cavs play...they are finished.

As far as LeCock goes.....from a personal standpoint, I can attest that he is a MAJOR asshole. He tips like shit, runs his " people " around like they are slaves and treats working staff even worse. I can't wait for the fuckin prick to blow up a knee or tear up his Achilles tendon. I hope he never, and I mean EVER!!!!!! gets a championship, or wins anything but Major Orbiting Asshole of The Century Award.( Modell won it in the last one )

I feel so bad for my old town Cleveland right now. The people there deserve so much more than this. A sad, sad day for C-Town.

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Oh jeez where do I begin. First off Cleveland is the absolute worse city to live in. This is not an opinion, this was proven in a study last year or maybe earlier this year. (It was based off of weather, economy, sports and a couple other things that I can't remember.) My sister who lives in Cleveland has told me how the Flats is gone, thanks to gang violence.

I remember when Browns left, that was a horrible time. Perhaps still worse then James leaving, but the Cavs were the only thing that this city had. I watched Browns fans go apeshit when they left thanks to Modell (spelled wrong perhaps, but I don't care). Tonight on ESPN I saw James uniforms on fire. Is this extreme? Nope, not at all. Think about it, a city in shambles with its one shining hope.....gone.

I agree. [CENSORED] him. It was never about team, or commitment, or loyalty or any of that. He took Cleveland fans like a bunch of suckers and then hung them out to dry on prime time TV, without delivering a single championship. And you better believe it's his own fault. He approved the trades. He wanted to play with Donyell Marshall, Mo Williams and Wally Szcerbiak. If anything, he had too much control. The team bent over backwards for him. You dick. Never come back.

I copied the text below from the Cavs.com site. It appears to be a genuine open letter from Cavs owner Dan Gilbert.

Quote:
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

I really hope that is a true 10000000000% statement but it seems rather harsh to go over " Professional " channels.

A curse would be awesome, but's let face it.......WE are the one's who are cursed.

That piece of crap served up Cleveland's heart on a T-ball stick and just tee'd off..On a slow sports night....On national TV, and Radio..... and Somehow was able to lick his own balls, with selfserving heirness, to get everyone to tune in for " His " decision, like it was some sort of Deliverance from the Almighty himself. Rot in hell forever......Goodnight sweet Prince.

This is the Cleveland spirit that makes me proud to be from Cleveland. There is no sarcasm here. Seriously, this has angered me in a way that I can't really describe. I am not really even a sports fan.

He didn't take Cleveland fans for a ride, they took themselves. They are delusional. The backlash to his departure is why Cleveland is ........well Cleveland. Instead of having class and wishing him well, they want his head on a spit. Modell took a team away, there's no comparison to this. He took less money because he wants to win and knows NBA history well, you can't win alone. If anyones head should be on a spit it's Dan Gilberts for not selling his team to Bosh and Wade. Instead he sat on his ass and his ego got in the way of doing business. He figured it was a lock for LeBron to stay because of the hometown loyalty stuff. LeBron made the right choice, stay loyal to your dreams and yourself. There's a reason Danny Ferry quit a month ago, I would assume because Gilbert was focused in the wrong direction. The Cavs are not committed to win a championships and LeBron knows this.

Hahaha...
I love it.
Fuckin' NBA... do you guys actually expect good sportmanship from these clowns? That went the way of the DoDo Bird a long time ago in basketball... the sport is a disgrace, not one player. Biggest waste of money in the USA.

NBA...

If these ceased playing tomorrow, I wouldn't lose a moments sleep... in fact, it would probably benefit our country, because people could spend those $8B or whatever it grosses a year on things that matter... maybe some of these superstars could actual finish college instead of showing their inner city fan base how it pays to take the money and run regardless of your committments and future...
Disgraceful sport.

As for Cleveland... they still have the Rock n Roll HOF, right?

From a person who is a native Baltimoron, I feel your pain, to some extent.

The Browns leaving - I'm sure you all hated Modell, but that was only a temporary loss - they did not become the Baltimore Browns, and you got a team within a few years and retained the name. Too bad the Browns stink. Baltimore had our Colts stolen from us in the middle of the night, and it was like ripping the guts out of this town, which bled blue and white (and orange and black). It took 12 or so years to get another team.We hate the Indianaplis Irsays worse than the Steelers.

The Orioles have sucked balls since the late 90's (strangely, shortly after Peter Angelos bought the team). Worst team in baseball and I don't foresee any improvement soon.

The Baltimore Bullets left long ago to DC - at least you have a b-ball team.
So, Cleveland is not alone.

LeBron is one player, a douchebag - you should say good riddance. And I'm with Koch regarding the NBA

But all that aside, a city is more than the sum of it's sports teams. Clevelands problems stem from being smack dab in the middle of the rust belt. It is too bad that Flats area has gone downhill.

The reason LaCock couldn't win a championship is because he was pretty much running the team. He told the higher ups who to get. He played the game his way and directed his players to do things his way.......then he quit after his mom got banged by Delonte West.

The reason we are so mad is that he strung us along. He lied to us about bringing a championship to the town. He threw NY Yankee ball caps and Dallas Cowboy on when he visited the Indians and Browns repectively. He fucked with us. He was a crybaby. He served us up on primetime TV.

In the end it was all about him. He doesn't care about his hometown, his people or anything else. If he was so good he would have won a championship already, instead hw whines that he has no help. He's a pathetic sack of shit.

The Flats died a long time ago guys. I had a front row seat to the whole thing and I can tell you it is a good thing the flats died. Thousands of drunks walking around puking, pissing and fighting eachother gets real old real fast. If you went there on sunday morning( which i did becasue I had to open the restaurant) you could smell the piss, stale beer and puke from a few blocks away.

After the Flats died the Warehouse district flourished with nicer restraunts and clubs. Up by Jacobs field and the Q a whole other set of higher end restraunts and bars sprouted up. A major reason was becasue of LeCock.

Cleveland sports fans have every right to be livid about this. Their souls have been pummeled and crushed time after time. There were no riots. That's for the real class fans of Philly to do.

Amen. LeBron signed off on every major decision they made. Donyell Marshall? Check. Sczerbiak? Yeah, bring him in too. West. Williams. Shaq. These are his guys. The Cavs were his team. His hometown team. Gilbert was by all accounts very generous. They won a ton of games and in some ways dominated the NBA for a few years during the regular season, but LeBron couldn't get it done in the playoffs, and it's his fault. And he knows it.

Basically in agreement about the Flats too. Other neighborhoods had developed by that point. The Flats is yesterday.

Some thoughts that went through my head:

*LEBRON TO ANNOUNCE 10 MINUTES INTO THE SHOW*

Good one...literally. Nicely done by ESPN Marketing/Advertising department...hook in the millionssss and make bank from those commercials. I'm thinking the only reason they listed all those potential cities was just to solidify interest and ratings.
---

Would a team like the current Miami Heat be able to develop pre social accessibility era? You know these three guys probably planned it out for months with daily communication through text messages, etc

---

What's up with Lebron buying a block in Cleveland...'Wade County' Miami...such lame competitive ego showcase to see who can be a bigger star...fuck that, Jerry coulda had his own country if he wanted it Laughing

-----

Be optimistic Cav's fans, you think this can top when Barry Bonds left Pittsburgh, as far as the aftermath curse is concerned?

I don't blame NBA players for skipping college or signing big contracts, or for leaving town to play in better places. Life hands you something like that, you grab it. But he will make less money in Miami, at least in terms of salary. I suppose he calculated that the move, and the trio, would be good for his image, his brand, overall. And he gets to party in South Beach. He never even said "Miami."

What we're left with is the NBA equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters, where LeBron will play in the shadow of Wade and Pat Riley. And still no point guard. And no big man. And no more money to spend. And now, a tarnished legacy in Cleveland. I don't think this is what he really wanted.

Not surprisingly, Gopher is way off the mark on what I meant. Pretty typical.
It has nothing to do with jealousy. It has to do with these guys being in the public eye and setting a terrible example.

If you have no interest in college, don't go to it. I have no problem with the people who don't go at all, and go straight to the pros... More power to them.

My problem is the ones who drop out as soon as they are offered a contract AFTER playing a year or two of college ball. It's part of our fucked up priorities in this country... we give people free college scholarships, who don't want to be there but do it because they feel they have to, so our basketball teams can win. You know, we could have actually given that scholarship to someone who WANTS college but can't afford it. Instead, we have schools that are just basketball (and football) factories. That's fucked up.

Our country, as the video I posted points out, cares more about LeBron James' announcement than they do about the fact that we are on a path to certain collapse.

Maybe you guys will give a [CENSORED] when you hit really hard times... or, maybe, you'll still be talking about LeBron, etc when you are dirt poor, maybe homeless, mainly as a result of the failures of our political leaders who you maybe didn't even take the time to research before voting...
How many Americans are proud to take no interest in this? But they love sports? Meanwhile we are sending soldiers all over the world, spending money we won't have in generations, but so long as the sports ball keeps turning, the masses are pacified.
FUCKING BACKWARDS!

The number of posts in this thread and the content therein show how absolutely backwards our society is.

I empathize with Cleveland's anger towards LaBron and would also have to generally assess him as a complete prick. Talk to me after he's got as many rings on his fingers as Kobe. Michael Jordan's name should not even be shamed by even implying that LaBron has a distant glimmer of hope of rising to MJ status.

He doesn't.

Exactly, everyone in the sports world puts him on the highest pedestal...win a championship first, thanks. Or 6. The comparisons to Michael Jordan are retarded....fucking retarded. Jordan was a champion.....multiple times. Win half of what Jordan did and then maybe LeBron could be in the same sentence, maybe. I hate him with a passion....such an asshole

That [CENSORED] is just a responsible in all of this as LeCock is!! Very Happy

Well, here's the deal with the NBA. Most of the time you need at least 2 major talents to win a championship most of the time. LeBron is one.
It's too bad he shafted Cleveland, but I sort of doubt he could have gotten a championship there.
Also, if I were some kid from Akron and you had the choice to play in Cleveland or Miami, I'd probably go for Miami.

Yes, exactly.
It is unfortunate that some people here are so thick that despite my huge rant, we still have to point out the obvious to them, but thanks for doing so.

S&R, obviously I am not just concerned about this website's attention to this crap, look at the big picture... 1 hour specials... massive media coverage... outrage after the fact... gihugic salaries... etc.
Man, that advice is becoming repetitive...
Try looking at the big picture, seriously.

And, skobud... Give me a break, you ridiculous tool. That's the only comment I will even dignify another lame post from you with.

How do you know you've found Lebron James' cell phone?
It vibrates and receives calls, but doesn't have a RING!!

I love how they were talking [CENSORED] about the German guy on Dallas... and he outperformed them while leading his team to victory over them!!!
Very Happy

Here are a couple more new Lebron jokes.

Today has been declared King James day. Everyone gets to leave work 12 minutes early!

Apparently Lebron’s car was working right last night after the game. Upon arrival, the mechanic discovered it had no clutch!

Well he came back. And I still hate his guts. Maybe IF he brings a title to Cleveland I might give a 10th of a crap, but I doubt it. Go Browns!

I haven't watched a basketball game since Le Bron left Cleveland and really don't care to.
If they put together a good team and bring a championship to town good Ohio deserves a winner after all these years.

But myself, I'm more concerned with how well the Brownies do this year.

Go Brownies !
