It's been about 25 years but I thought I might buy some stamps and start trading tapes again. Let me know what tapes I should buy. Has the debate about Dolby been resolved? I'm pretty sure this bad-boy works as well as ever, but it doesn't do Dolby so I might need to upgrade.

Maxell XL-II 90 minutes to be precise.

I still have a hardcopy of my list from the Tape Tracker program somewhere in the family archives. My cassettes are in my basement bar, safely secured away in the old fruit crates. I miss those tape trading days - the instant gratification of the Internets has taken all of the fun and mystery out of trading.

Hahaha, yeah, the XL-II... what about the IIs?
I hated when I had to go to another length to get a whole set in.

Funny how now that's all completely moot as digital is digital (aside from bps).

I remember when I found my crystal clear Set 2 SBD from 12-12-90 McNichols - it was necessary to use the rare 110-minute cassette for that one, but well worth it.

Yes! I remember having that one as well, and yes, definitely worth it. A spacey endeavor if ever there were one... yet still gripping.
