In this picture him (aged 50) nd I are discussing London. If you look close the woman in front of us had an umbrella of the Tube map. He lived in Europe (Germany) for several years as his dad was military and had time to bum around a bit (he was in High School)

This picture was taken last summer by my sister. We were at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. The Phish fries and drink were used at Big Cypress 1999/2000 New Years fest. This vacation has some of the last pictures of me with long hair for the obvious reasons.

Another picture I found on my computer. This picture was taken at during what was supposed to be Levon Helm's set last year. He got rained out from one of the worst rains I have ever seen. Phil's set was excellent though, when he finally came on.

This was taken at a school that I contract out the renovations for in Kirkuk, Iraq... this was opening day, in August or September 2003... We redid the entire place, from the toilets to the painting inside and out, etc. The man in the middle is Mr. Habib, he was my translator, the other american is Sergeant Major Weik, awesome guy (1SG at the time). The people are all kurdish people. I have put on a few pounds since then!
Within a month the school was trashed, but not by looters or anyone, but the kids and the teachers. They just didn't take care of it. It was pretty frustrating.

That's the Cristo Redentore? Right?

Quite the view from up there. Have you seen, speaking of Rio... either of the two movies?
Cidade de Deus (City of God, which is the name of a slum in Rio)
Cidade dos Homens (City of Men)

Excellent movies... definitely need to see them if you haven't. I prefer Cidade de Deus, because it is based on a true story... a gang war in the slums... absolutely rivetting.

Yes, Corcovado.

I saw City of God. Awesome movie. There was an HBO series based on that too. Same director, some of the same actors.

Actually, I think it's City of Men. I guess it wasn't HBO. Anyway, my friend had it on DVD and I saw a few episodes. Great stuff.

I don't know if it's like a pilot movie with episodes or what, but it was cut into a series somehow.

Looked it up on netflix, its a 3 disc set, made in Brazil (of course) for Brazilian TV. Should be cool, but it will be after I come back from Europe before I can get it.

Circa 2002 I think...My friend Evan (wearin the camo hat) and I busted up in my friends house taunting and trash talking everyone that night calling ourselves Panda Bomb [CENSORED] Rag. Then we proceeded in losing hard core in Tekken Tag and was forced to drink a lot of beer that night. Ah..drinking games combined with video games=priceless.

It is a helluva break from the NoVa/Dc city life. Couldn't stand it out there.

I left that playground, and I've got the rockies in my backyard now!

No but I think I want to. I really like snorkeling, have have snorkeled in Hawaii and in the Caribbean and I love it and really want to do it again as soon as I can manage it. I am not sure If I want to scuba or not because I saw so much when snorkeling in shallow water. I am not sure if I want to deal with the hassle of all of the equipment and the claustrophobia of being in deeper water with the pressure change and everything, if that makes sense.

Me on bass guitar, this was playing at a deadhead festival 'Dancing Bear' in Germany. Band is The Cosmic Charlies, an English dead cover band.

EDIT: Corrected festival name

We flew in to some airport in the middle of nowhere to be driven to some sleepy village (so small, there were no shops). I was told it was almost the exact centre of Germany, can't remember the name.

I checked and you can see more pics here

The equipment is kind of a pain, walking with ~60ish pounds on your back isn't too bad, but doing it on a rocking boat, with fins certainly is.

I tend to experience a little claustrophobia every now and then on land. Never felt it yet underwater. The pressure is no fun, but after a minute or two you become accustomed to it. You should give it a try sometime, I bet you'll love it.

Vermont, "Summer 2008" looks like Winter 2010 in Florida! And this was our coldest winter in recent times.

Two observations
- Swami's car stereo photo reveals one helluva clunker of a Dead show -1/28/87.

- R&S's Vermont 2008 pic - are you sure that isn't David Cross? Laughing

This is me and one of my best friends receiving a 1st place award for our Death Star chili at a chili cook off a couple weeks ago. The person giving us the award is Sam Wyche. Some of you might remember him as the coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, he is now the Vice Chairman of Pickens County Meals On Wheels.

Here's me the day after crashing my skateboard badly a few weeks ago for those of you who didn't get to see it, this pic isn't for the faint of heart though, I was cruising down a hill, got speed wobbles and got pitched onto my face, was knocked out briefly.

Well ... not me that's my wife's father's (my father in law? Is it correct) vineyard not big but enough for a 1000 liters of white vine we call Malvasia ... we usually spend like 2 days for getting the grape out of the vineyard onto the truck and then in the little country house where we have this 70 years old hand machines to squeeze the grape to get the juice out like for 3 times in the row. Then there is a procedure to put the juice (which later becomes vine)in different wooden bottles and so on ... you should come and try it! The bad part is that you get stings from the "vespe" ... how is it in englis ... bees!? I guess ...

... its fun!

I recently applied to get certified in wine making, as a step I am taking before leaving America to live overseas...

Kochman, why don't you just go and buy a setup for making wine? What does being certified do? Is it some class?
I have a few friends who make wine and beer in small batches, they go to a store called Brew and Grow and craigslist to get the necessary equipment. My buddy was able to supply all the wine for his wedding with his homemade brew, and I usually don't like wine too much, but the "homegrown" was so tasty. He actually works at a B&G in St. Paul one day a week so he can get pretty good deals on stuff too. He had some brandy flavored beer that was awesome as well besides some of the other stuff I've had.

I was thinking of doing that. I got a book on how to do it, I plan on just buying some grapes and making some until I eventually have my own plot of land covered in vines...

As for the certification, it is for a possible career change... I think I would really like to get into that field.

Close - '87

Sigh...

Y'all in 'em?

There was a guy on the lawn next to us with a lunch bag full of joints, who reached in and threw handfuls out into the audience.
