We came across this incredible video of Jerry Garcia doing his best Bob Weir imitation at Hampton in 1987 during Terrapin. We’ve never seen Captain Trips so animated and it warms the heart to see how into it he gets. Even Bobby gets a big kick out of Jer’s impression and the crowd goes apeshit.

Very cool video...but I have to disagree with that.

Have you seen the 4/12/78 Truckin' or U.S. Blues? Shocked
I have a feeling that type of energy was seen throughout '78....

I had this awful feeling that it was going to be footage of Jerry in jean cut-offs Shocked

I like how he gets all jumpy, then does the trademark "push the glasses back up his nose" move.

I can't remember where I read this, it might even be buried somewhere in the youtube comments, but the story (supposedly) behind the windmills on that 1978 show was that the house crew asked the band not to get the audience too stirred up right before they left, for some reason. On the one hand, these things always have to be taken with a grain of salt, and it's hard to know why they would make such a request anyway. On the other hand, Jerry being a dick about something does seem just about the most plausible explanation for his antics there...
