I didn't get to gonto my first dead show till 1987 and I didn't get to do my first full summer tour till 1988. Now in my opinion and I know that everyones tastes are different but I think the dead were the best in 1976, 1977, 1978. I may a little biased here because of when I first got to see them but I think they came out pretty strong and revived themselves in 1987. What is the general opinion of the best show in 1987. I can tell you that I saw them the first time a few nights later but I will never get tired of listening to 3/31/87. I think that Jack straw into franklins has the most incredible intense energy. I don't think there is a better jack straw out there....what show do you all like. I'm always into hearing new shows...

My favorite show of the year (and I saw alot that year) - they were ON the whole night.
12/27/87 Oakland
Touch Of Grey [6:14] ; Jack Straw [6:11] ; Peggy-O [5:55] ; Walkin' Blues [4:58] ; Ramble On Rose [6:50] ; Addams Family Tuning ; Me And My Uncle (1) [2:44] > Big River [5:11] ; It Must Have Been The Roses [5:18] ; Desolation Row [9:24] > Don't Ease Me In [3:28]
Playing In The Band [9:02] > Uncle John's Band [7:58] > Estimated Prophet [10:24] > Eyes Of The World [8:28] > Drums [9:19#] > Space [8:34] > Dear Mr. Fantasy [6:47] > Stella Blue [7:30] > Throwing Stones [9:22] > Turn On Your Lovelight [4:53]
Encore The Mighty Quinn (Quinn The Eskimo) [4:32]
Comments (1)Bobby:"So the final score was San Francisco forty-eight, L.A. nuthin'." before Me & My Uncle

Also
3/30 Philly
4/6 Brendan Byrne
6/27 Alpine
7/2 Rochester - 12 song, rockin first set, solid as hell 2nd set.
7/8 Roanoke
8/23
9/9/ Providence
9/23 Philly
I think 11/14 is really good too. Not sure if that is the right date but it opens w/ Pocky Way.
