One Help On The Way [4:16] > Slipknot! [5:09] > Franklin's Tower [12:02] ; The Same Thing [7:49] ; Loose Lucy [7:57] ; Eternity (1) [11:07] ; Don't Ease Me In [3:21]
Two Scarlet Begonias [10:16] > Fire On The Mountain [17:58] > Playing In The Band [7:43] > Uncle John's Band [10:20] > Drums [9:26] > Space [17:31}> Easy Answers [7:30] ; Stella Blue [9:02] > Good Lovin' [6:57]

Encore Liberty [6:41

So you guys know I pretty much hate 94-95. It depresses me to listen to these recordings because Jerry's decline is right there in fron of us. Those years depress me and added with other factors ( poor song selection, 5 song first sets, 45 min drums, etc) I tend to stick my nose up at them.

Then I run across a show like this and I can't believe it's the same band. Things start of a little shakey as Garcia mumbles the first few words of Help. He recovers though and plows through both Help and Slipknot with a crsipness and dexterity that were absent for most of 94-95. The Slipknot goes pretty deep here and gets a little dark. Both Phil and Vinnie are locked in as well and the jam melts away into a very well paced Franklin's. We get a few extra minutes of soloing before he goes into the words. Pay close attention to Garcia here as he is adding all thses little filler runs between the words and verses. These are not full solos but rather colorings to the music. Very nice work here.

Next up is The Same Thing which I like in the blues spot. Nice change-up from Rooster or CC Rider. The rest of the set is OK but a quick word about Eternity. This version has a great jam section. The solo by Vince is given room to breathe and Garcia nails his parts as well. A very solid version of this tune that made me appreciate the song as I don't listen to it much. Even the Don't Ease has a little extra pop to it.

Second set starts off with a monster of a Scarlet>Fire. Again, Garcia seems like the Garcia of old and is hitting everything he is supposed to and then some. Scarlet begins at a blistering pace and continues through Fire. Jerry gets in some large " FIIIIIIRRRRREEEE , FIIIIIIIRRRREEEE'S at the end. I have to put this version up there against the Charlotte one from 3/25. Actually this version can hold it's own against most of the 90's versions.

As if to keep the time warp going the boys launch into a short but sweet Playin that quickly yet flawlessly flows into a very solid Uncle John's. Jerry is still on and the band seems energized as the jam section in Uncle John's gets a great workout. This is from 95????

The rest of the set is pretty standard. Be sure to check out Stella Blue!!! I'm not going to give it away, but explore on your own and I think you will be pleasently surprised.

Overall this show blew me away. I've listened to it three times now and find it quite enjoyable. Jerry and Phil are both white hot tonight. Vince also shines during this show and adds some great backround. Bobby did not shine well during this show. He added some horrible noises during Franklin's and Fire that had me thinking the PA was broadcasting Air Traffic Control, a-la-Spinal Tap.
For a 95 show I highly recommend this one. It's better than most all the other 95 shows I've heard and 94 shows for that matter.

So I was wrong about there being nothing worth a [CENSORED] about 95 so if someone will pass the salt, I'll dig into the roasted crow I have on the plate in front of me!

Yes, I remember the Eternity from this show being good, but I tend to like it more than most people... since I like the era more than most to begin with.

I didn't really enjoy the S>F that much to be honest. I know it gets good reviews, and I don't dislike it, I just couldn't really say I loved it.

Great review Lucasmcain, and it's cool when we find stuff to like about the later years since there is so much dislike that is so obvious so much of the time. Thanks!

In all honesty, I don't dislike every show from that year. The later portion, when Keith is with them, is much more appealing to me...

I don't remember seeing it here, but I could be wrong. I have heard that this show is decent for the era.

I read this review at the Transitive also Very Happy ... maybe that post was there!

This is yet another show I will have to listen to ... I'm like a decade late ss listening is concerned, so 1995 is very back in my list, but I do go to that year expecially after reviews like those. Thanks for the review man!
