I wonder why the Dead didn't just drop the vocals and make this into instrumental bookends to the Other One, that would have been cool. Musically it's cool, but 1. The melody is too sing-songy to support lyrics without sounding dumb. 2. The lyrics themselves are incredibly dumb, a good thing Jerry farmed them out after this, he had no talent in that direction (the lyrics to Other One are dumb too, but somehow they work in context). 3. Jerry couldn't sing it, arguably not even in the old days and certainly not in 1985.

But it would make a pretty cool instrumental and a good context for TOO to nestle itself into.

I realize it's called "Cryptical Envelopment," there was some pun about them "developing" it into an instrumental swimming around my head when I wrote the subject heading.

This is the good part of not knowing english perfectly ... you pretty much enjoy the melody Very Happy

So, I am used to the vocals but is there a plain instrumental of that song?

No, I just think it would have been a good idea.
