Is grunge coming back? Last year had a decent album from Pearl Jam released and a new Alice In Chains album. Then Soundgarden got back together in March 2009 without Chris Cornell. Instead they had Tad Doyle sing.

Interestingly enough, this spur of the moment reunion was the work of Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine and Chris Cornell's bandmate in Audioslave.

Then later in 2009 Pearl Jam had special guest Chris Cornell join them on stage making a Temple Of The Dog reunion. Matt Cameron the current drummer from Pearl Jam is from Soundgarden. According to Billboard this is what helped start reunion talks.

Today Soundgarden has announced they plan to tour in 2010.

I don't know if anyone else got the email, but on Thursday, 8/5/10, Soundgarden is playing a pre-Lollapalooza show at the Vic in Chicago. Tickets are $100/pair (sold only in pairs). I just got the info on this yesterday. If you are interested, they are having a lottery for the tickets. You have to be signed up by the end of the day TODAY to get into the lottery. If you are into them, this may be the best chance to see them you'll ever get. The Vic is a great place.
