Did anyone know this? I was just thinking about hitting this show, so I looked at some reviews there. I noticed talk of a different guitar, and then a few people saying it was Wolf...

Did he ever do that at other shows after he "retired" it?

Yeah, definitely it has a different sound from the rest of the year, Jerry-wise.

I am listening to CR&S at work, I figured out how to avoid the no-streaming rule here... I DL a song or two day, then play it from my DL.

Anyhow, definitely worth the listen.

So, I guess that means this would be a Jerry MIDI-free show? Or are older guitars able to hook up as well?

I actually just read somewhere last night that the Wolf had MIDI attached to it sometime during Fall of '89, so MIDI in this show is a possibility.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I was at this show, and didn't really know enough about Jerry's guitars at the time to realize he had Wolf out. I vaguely remember some folks talking about it during space...

Guess at the time I didn't care how the music was played; I just wanted to be there and experience it. Surprised

NO! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Please don't make this your 1st 90s show!

Try one of the following:

7/12/90
9/19/90
6/17/91
9/13/93
Very Happy

It just makes me sad to see photos of Jerry in the 90s, that I don't really want to listen to them.

But it's time to get over that, so I will check out your suggestions.

I'm just a 1968 girl at heart. Very Happy

I believe he was off the smack for 90-91, and most of 93... of course, I cannot confirm this... it would explain why those years are excellent both for the Grateful Dead and the Jerry Garcia Band though.

The 5-26-93 Playin' in the Band that Kochman recommended, among other crucial picks, was amazing to me, among the very best I've ever heard, and has spurred my interest in this period.
Number 11 here -

Well... hmmm... don't watch the videos and imagine him as that you captain trips... it's worth it to hear the great jams, etc.

Cheese, Swami pointed that PITB out to me about a year ago or so... I wish I could take credit... the Terrapin from 6/23... wvhead showed it to me...

But, I am encouraged that you liked it. Too bad you will miss the 9/13/93 experience, feel free to listen to, make sure you are prepared for blissful, deliberate playing as opposed to molten lava type playing.

Giving this another shot while I work away this slow Wednesday before Thanksgiving...
That Wang Dang Doodle is hot! Not a song I normally dig either.

As before, all the other stuff is still rocking that I already mentioned.
