I recently rediscovered Pearl Jam. I used to listen to this band almost everyday. Each album they release they continue to show a nice maturing edge. If you would have to told me in 1994 that Pearl Jam was going to be the band that lasted from the 90's grunge scene I probally would have laughed. I really thought they reached their peak with Vitology. I was extremely wrong about that. Not too mention there is an abundance of bootlegs surrounding this band, they just seem to remain timeless for me.

Also how many bands can say they were Neil Young's band for an album?

Check out pearljambootlegs.com it is sort of like archive for PJ.

Really like Pearl Jam. Probably stems from my Neil Young obsession.
They put on a great live show.
No Code is probably my favorite album of theirs.

Thanks for the website heads up.

Pearl Jam was pretty cool. Unfortunately they inspired a lot of "wanna-be Pearl Jam" bands in the 90s that were god awful. Dig the original sound, not the copycats.

Yeah... really, between them and Nirvana, a whole new scene was started... Grunge... and no one ever got better than the originators were at it.

My favorite PJ song was "Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town"...

Alice In Chains and Soundgarden were also very strong and essential to that time period.

Back to Pearl Jam, the jam on the last song in the video above is definately an X-Factor moment. They are just firing off on everything!

I don't know... is AIC grunge? Not so sure about that. I guess they could be...

Soundgarden was ok, and I believe they came out well before PJ, I could be wrong there.

Too me at least, in a VERY personal way Pearl Jam is Summer Time music. I always go to them when I'm on the beach and it as a great a spiritual fullfillment to me as some of the best GD stuff out there. This is VERY personal music to me.

That being said.....http://www.pearljam.com/ has a new 24 hour radio addition that plays Pearl Jam boots from all eras!! Great Stuff if you are in the need.

Peace.
