I would have to go with '76. The year provides such floaty sound to it and great sounding boards are abundant.
I have yet to hear anything bad from 1976....I really dig Lonesome and a Long Way From Home and it seems like '76 is the only year they play it with a fast steady pace(4/1/76 and 4/3/76 for 22 minute longs versions that shed)....versions from '77 - '78 get spacey.
Even a song I hate as much as 'Knockin on Heavens Door' sound great. Love the reggae twist!

The only down fall of the year is that many great songs starting coming around after it....

Donna sounds like an angel too! Razz

I agree 100% about Donna on 76 JGB shows. She makes those shows really stand out.

But for some reason I always like the 80-84 JGB sets the best. I love how he basically could [CENSORED] all over the audience with a 3 or 4 song set that lasted just under 50 mins. Of course those sets would shred and it was just Jerry wailing away, but I tend to really like those shows when I need a good dose of Jerry letting loose.

You know what...I think i'm starting to agree with this.
Very high energy, quality recordings and probably the best year for my setlist preference, consistently solid!.

You ever hear 3/11/83, 10/1/83 or 12/6/83?
Those are three that have stood out for me so far.

What are some of your favorite '83 shows?
