You need to be culturally sensitive here.

There are two substances which are in many ways very similar and yet divide both NZ and Australia down the middle. One is Vegemite and the other is Marmite. Vegemite has a very high Aussie profile, and Marmite more of a kiwi identity, but neither consumer will touch the other brand except under duress.

We are a Marmite family, but there is a twelve year old jar of Vegemite in the cupboard that we bought when my wife's brother was here helping us with house repairs when we first moved in. He was always a contrary little [CENSORED] , so chose Vegemite when the rest of his family ate Marmite.
