Hey now,
Where have you guys been. It seems like it has been very quite of a while, and we used to have some awesome conversations, and things were always cool, because there were a ton of interesting conversations and opinions.
I know that things get in the way, such as life, and work, and marriage, and kids...but in the end we are all here because of our love for the Greatest band in history. I used to love coming home and the first thing I would do is log on and see what new posts were here, and I would respond, and I would add new posts. It seems lately that there isn't anyone caring that much anymore, adding new posts, talking about new and interesting things, and to me that kind of sucks.
The Grateful dead are what I consider blood going through my veins. It's not the the music that's incredible, but as I'm sure you will all understand it is a culture that we were and are a part of.
I would hate to see this forum stop because we have a great group of people on here and we all have a TON of stuff to talk about, and it always makes us think.
So this is my plea to all of you to help and keep this forum up and running. You guys have been great and I love checking daily to see what everyone is talking about....so give this some thought!!!!
And remember we are all here for one reason and one reason only....The Gold Ole Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, and the music and culture that we all love so much.
Peace And b Wild
Mike

Glad you are still here and into it, Colonial. I have been listening to a lot, and by extension thinking a lot about, the Grateful Dead - as part of my 100 Points of Light Brent Era project (shameless plug). So I have a lot of things to talk about, debate, etc..but honestly I don't post much because it seems like I'm talking to myself sometimes. I too would love to see some more participation and action in the forum. Right on.

I would also love to see more action here!
If you build it, will they come?

I still come in from time to time to check in. It's always so hard to know when someone has an upgrade to shows I just can't keep up these days, especially as I do not like to torrent. However, it appears that Brooklyn Steve knows some things I do not (http://brooklynsteveridesagain2.blogspot.com/). I definitely recommend checking out his site. There's a lot of stuff there, but most significantly (for me), there are a lot of new matrix mixes of GD shows created by Hunter Seamons.

Seriously, everyone should check it out.

I've been actively listening to the band since whenever I stopped posting here, granted I've gone through times of not listening at all but it doesn't take long for me to find my way back. I've had a lot going on the last few years but recently realized that shit, this band has pretty much been a hobby of mine for the last 6 years and a part of my life since the day I was born.....why not talk about it with like minded people? I use "like minded" people loosely, we all love the band but for different reasons and prefer different years, eras, etc. They're aren't many bands that this is remotely possible with. Off to do some research on a potential project I have in mind...

Glad to have you back... I think Swami's project is a great way to get some more folks here again, get back to where we were...

Personally, I've taken a major chill pill during my own personal hiatus/shutdown of the site. I know I needed to, and I know I need to prove that.

I think long enough has passed that the drama can subside and we can focus on the music.

Also, after Swami's 100 Points of Light is done, there are already 2-3 other projects in the making!

I have taken a year and some months of self imposed Dead exile. It really was time to take a step back. Work was insane (still is) and within that time I have been promoted which is even crazier! I am slowly dipping back in the Dead forum pool. However, I can say I am the only person in management that wears Dead t-shirts on a regular basis. With that said, I almost feel bad when I have tell people they [CENSORED] at work while wearing a Steal Your Face. (not too bad, as the job is pretty simple and they clearly [CENSORED] at what their job is)

Welcome back man!
And congrats on the promotion. Be happy you're allowed to wear a GD shirt while managing!
