Is everyone ok with the new background? (jerry's face)

Or does it make ready too hard?

I toned down the tones a little... did that help?
I can make it more faded too.

More faded would be good. It is a little busy and makes my eyes a little tired but I I like the idea.

What if it is even more faded and subtle, like a water mark?

Day off? What, do you work for the gov't?

I'm with Sugarmag, fade it another 60% or so.

But, it is pretty cool, if my eyes weren't 43 years old.

Hell, I don't know how, but it is tough for my eyes to focus on the print due to the brightness of the background. Maybe a faded watermark like SM said.

ahh, the brightness of the background...
ok, this should be somewhat better.
I am not done altogether yet, but we are getting closer I think.

Yep, you're heading in the right direction here.

A touch more grey? A touch less grey? Just right?

I just jumped on to this thread. Background needs to be darker (or something different) it makes everything hard to read.
Just my opinion..

Maybe I just need corrective lenses? When the font is bold, like the post I edited above, I can read it much easier. I could fix it in a mapping program easy enough, but I know almost nothing about HTML and/or website programs...

I think you might want to add a poll to this thread.... and I vote for going back to the original layout. I'm not saying that change isn't good, it's just that I think I'm more comfortable with the classic "Speeding Arrow" look.

EDIT: btw, what is the significance of having Santa Claus as our background, anyway??

I didn't realize Santa needed corrective lenses.
Anyhow, some form of the Jolly old man will be represented like this...
In time, it may change to something else. Embrace hope and change cr!

Thanks to skobud who's idea which is now the new Logo on the upper left was the inspiration for the complete makeover the site has been undergoing.

Work with us while we work through the kinks. Some things are here to stay though, and the slightly slower download speed is one of those things. Of course, if you have dial up, that slightly slower speed is probably WAY slower. I apologize for this.

Some more changes are in the works, slight ones, and will take more time. The major push is complete.

One structural detail that still needs work is getting in a graphic divider between posts. Note that the "quote" button on the upper right corner of posts is not clearly part of the post above or the post below. It looks like there is a vestigial stump of a graphic that could be converted to a dividing line:

This is actually one of the changes I am still trying to figure out... I have a team of monkeys working around the clock that are actually coming up with this stuff as it is well beyond me.

See the chain around his neck? That's how you keep them in their cubicles coding around the clock. Try it!
