Some nice choices today. I even had the pleasure of going to a couple of these show
First the famous AUD Quintessential Quintet//8/6/71

8/6/74 Summertime WOS show-"Hot town, summer in the city..." Roosevelt Stad. was just a drive through the Holland Tunnel (or was it the Lincoln?) from Manhattan. Who knew Jersey City could be Paradise?

8/6/82 from St.Paul I believe. I know zip about this show. Will have to check swami's top 100 and see if it's there.

8/6/89 From Cal-Expo. My 2nd outing in 89', the first being the AIDS benefit in May. Before that hadn't seen them since the RCMH shows from 80'. I love all the Cal-Expo shows. Great venue to see them. This show shines with an outstanding Bird Song. Great opener--LTGTR>Stranger>Franklins Tower. Also the Scarlet/Fire ain't to shabby either Cool Cool

8/6/74 was a hell of a show in tho dog days of summer!

8/22/93 Autzen Stadium - got it on this morning at work.

These Eugene '93 shows still hold up as really good performances, worth re-visiting now and then. I'm partial to the 22nd; maybe it's the Help/Slip/Franklin's. Exclamation Cool

I go back and forth on these two, they both have their great moments.
That HSF is a great one, for sure, as is the Days in the post-space segment.
First set highlights also include the Masterpiece, Broken Arrow, and of course TMNS.

However, the previous night has an epic Truckin>Schoolgirl>Smokestack with everyone's beloved Huey Lewis on the harmonica.
The SOTM is also one of the best ever put out, with the stellar build up at the end.
The C>R is also great to open the 2nd, and in the first set there's a LRR and a nice Bird Song. The opening HCS unfortunately suffers from sound issues in the crucial first seconds...

Speaking of TDIH, 9/10/91 MSG w/ Marsalis

Seminal show, though I know some (Swami) are not fans... This was one of my early bootlegs and I've always loved it. I tend to like the GD with sax.

Extremely jazzy, and slower than I usually like, but it hits the spot.

Yes I enjoy this show much more than the "Branford Show" from March of 90 which is getting tons of attention now that it's an official release. At any rate I'm enjoying the hell outta 9/12/81 from Berzerkley. Smokin'- Funkadelic S.S to open things up. Very high energy Ch/Rider great, great first set. Strong Sc/Fire and groovy estimated/eyes. Need a Baby Blue? You got it ! Back to the 90s for a second. By the 90s I was losing interest somewhat, but the funny thing is I went to quite a few shows during that time. I cannot remember if I ever had a shitty time at a show.
