Let's list the best ones here... can't believe we haven't done this yet.

I will lead us off with 7/12/90 of course... my favorite.
Then on the other end of the spectrum... 10/13/68

Apparently duderino and I are the only ones who like this song... and he apparently likes it much more than I do.

One of my favorite Dark Stars was played by the Warlocks at the Hampton on 89/10/09. Interesting tidbit of info when the Dead played the Hampton in 92 I think it was billed as Bruce Horsnby and friends.

Also check out:
72/04/29 (30 minute monster!!!)
Rockin The Rhein DS>Me and My Uncle>DS
72/05/04

Dude already took my Halloween 91 DS choice. KESEY!!!!!

Also an interesting composition of Dark Star is found on the Infrared Roses disc. i think the song is Silver Apples of the Moon.

Oh and perhaps the best dark Star ever wasn't even really performed by the band yet still performed by the band. Grayfolded. 2 discs of Dark Star.

Yeah, there is nothing "overrated" bout 10-09-89's Dark Star - that's for sure!

I'm surprised I forgot all about the Dark Star encore break out in '84. 7/13/84 Greek Theater. Listening is required, Brent shines all over this.

What comes to mind right now is:
Live Dead
10-31-71
4-8-72
4-24-72
Spectrum 9-72 and Jersey City 9-72 from the Dick Picks
11-13-72
11-11-73
12-06-73, motherfuckers!!
7-13-84
10-16-89
07-12-90

I need to get back on a schedule with this song...lots I dig are fading from memory a bit. 9-24-72 I seem to recall. I think Veneta is a tier down and so is Copenhagen 4-17. I really like the short one from Jan. 79. I don't think I've heard the longer one from that month. Some of those 68-ers are actually nifty, as Koch likes to say. The Jai Alai from 74 and Feb. 24? 74. 10-25-73 must be revisited.
