Started it yesterday (being its anniversary and all) and finished this morning. Another excellent show in the sick East Coast Fall Tour that year. SQ is very good too. Big River opener gets things going in a hurry. First set is solid, typical 72 goodness. China Rider is perfection.
Set 2 features a rare Baby Blue and the last Cryptical performed prior to 85. TOO launches into deep chaos, typical of this era. If you've listened to it, might be a great time to revist this gem, if you havent heard it, do yourself a favor.. Very Happy

Big River [4:41] ; Sugaree [7:21] ; Mexicali Blues [3:27] ; Friend Of The Devil [3:19] ; Black Throated Wind [6:41] ; China Cat Sunflower [7:36] > I Know You Rider [5:26] ; Me And My Uncle [2:58] ; Tennessee Jed [7:40] ; Jack Straw [4:53] ; Bird Song [10:11] ; El Paso [4:29] ; Deal [4:15] ; Playing In The Band [17:55]

Brown Eyed Women [4:53] (2) ; The Promised Land [2:52] > Bertha [5:43] > Greatest Story Ever Told [4:55] ; Around And Around [4:28] ; It's All Over Now, Baby Blue [7:28] ; Cryptical Envelopment [1:59] > Drums [3:25] > The Other One [22:44] > Wharf Rat [9:38] ; Beat It On Down The Line [3:17] ; Ramble On Rose [6:27] ; Sugar Magnolia [8:05] > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad [8:00] > Not Fade Away [5:#34] > One More Saturday Night [4:42]

While I have not heard this particular show... it is certainly in a hot month that was responsible for 3 of Dick's Picks, like 'em or not.

Additionally the Dark Star > (some song I forgot) from 9/16/72 was fucking intense!

Good call Dave...

Miss Devine... welcome! You are a new face around here. Thanks for posting and we hope you like it here.

By all means, put this on your listening list. The Waterbury shows were sandwiched between 9/21/72 Philly monster and the Stanley Theatre run. Its pretty much on par with those (well maybe not as killer as 9/21..)
9/24 is good DS>China>Rider Shocked (with a nasty cut in Rider) but this one is better of the 2 nights IMO. Welcome Miss Divine! Good to have a new face round here.

I did some skimming around and listened to:
BTW, China>rider, Straw, Bird Song, GSET, Baby Bliue, Wharf Rat, and Sugar Mags.

Song in italics were OK, the rest were blazing. Bird Song was a melodic beauty. I'm outta the loop with '72, and really don't see my self hitting it too hard for awhile.

These may get you on board with 72. Of the early 70's this year is my favorite.
4/8/72 Darkstar>Sugar Mag>Caution
5/11 Rotterdam
5/26/72 insane. The Truckin and Dew from E72 are taken from this.
7/18/72
8/12/72
9/17/72
8/27/72 Sure its overhyped but an intense acid drenched 3 set scorcher.
9/21/72 DS>MLBJ>>Dew Shocked
9/26-27-28
10/18 Playin>Drums>Darkstar>Dew>Playin Shocked Shocked
A slew of strong shows in Oct, Nov and Dec.
12/11 is nice and the NYE show smokes.
