So I started looking at all the Dick's picks and realized that some of them are rightbon, and others are just so so. So I figured I would start a topic to see which Dick's Picks is your favorite and why.
My favorite one is Dick's picks 12. I love what the boys were doing in 1974 and I just think this DP captures it so well. It has it all. The trippiness, the jazziness, the jams, basically the whole nine yards.
So there you.....my favorite and why.

5/22/77 - b/c (1) it was MIA and nobody had heard it before it was found by Dick; and (2) for the one-time only Terrapin reprise that emerges out of Wharf Rat and segues into Terrapin

6/28/74 - gets honorable mention for the jam that follows Let It Grow which is what I consider to be the best jam the band ever played

DP 29 because it features two great shows from a classic tour - 5/19 & 5/21/77

#1 - started it all and is now the formula a lot of other bands follow. Plus, that HCS melts me to this day ........
#7 - not so much for the collection itself; before it was released I sent Dick a Christmas card (the Jerry-clause card) pleading with Dick to leave 8/6/74 under my Christmas tree; he wrote back indicating I was very close in predicting the next DP; still have the letter in my "archives".
