What songs you feel most proud about being about to sing along from start to finish with confidence? Which songs do you struggle with?

China Cat was the first GD song I memerized because I only knew the studio version and had no clue what Jerry was singing....this was before I even got into GD. Due to recent overload, I can say I can nail ever line in Reuben and Cherise, and boy is it fun Smile I recently saved the studio version on my portable XM device...one of my favorite versions, it just lacks a sick ending we all love. But from what i've read there are two projects Jerry was very proud of : GD Movie and Cats Under The Stars Album

I sometimes struggle with Terrapin, Eyes, and Help On The Way.

I played guitar with this other guy in college. 99.9% of the time played just for us and occasionally played bars and some frat house. Anyway after the Dead played Desolation Row....yup we decided to play it. Since the other guy didn't sing I had to commit it to memory. That was a tough one!

Dylan songs really challenge a man's regurgitation Exclamation Smile

Two massive users of teleprompters, Jerry and Obama...

Ok, what songs do I know by heart?
Crap, a ton. I am a bit rusty right now though, as I have been on a massive dead hiatus.

.... this helps you to love them even more when the old love flame gets back ... besides what are you listening to while on hiatus?

Brokedown Palace, Ship Of Fools, It Must've Been The Roses... I play them all in G and just run them all together and/or jump between verses.

I also listen to my favorites like Juanes, Talking Heads, Beatles, Eminem (yep)... et al...

Sitting at home and singing without music I can hold my own with most songs. Singing with the Grateful Dead can be trying at times. Not knowing when there coming in, the phrasing of the words/lyrics changes and Mr.Mumbles Garcia does'nt help much either.

Let's not forget Mr. Weir and his frequent botchings of "Truckin"!!!

To be honest I can sing Terrapin Station, Dark star, and Jack Straw from start to finish. I'm sure if I had to I could sing many more from start to finish, but for as many as I can sing start to finish, I would need cue cards for the other half. Just being honest here. As much as I find the lyrics to Be beautiful most of the time, I always seem to get caught up in the music, and don't end up paying attention to the lyrics anyway. I mean I know them, and sing along with them, but I also get wrapped up in the trippiness of the jam that is going on around them. I would be just as happy if they played the songs without lyrics and just jammed out. I have a few rehearsal tapes where they do this, and it is pure bliss just listening to the music evolve.
