I don't know where I'm really going with this post but I just started to think about all the good times, and all the friends that I made along on the way on this journey through life, and about how much of those times had to do with the Grateful Dead in one way or another.
I mean don't get me wrong, but first off all thank you to the band themselves for making all the memories possible. It was awesome listening to the albums, and watching them evolve into what they became. It was even cooler for someone my age because I pretty much got to start at the beginning of the catalogue and work my way through it. I sometimes try to imagine having been there since the beginning and going to shows, and waiting for the next album to come out to see what direction they were going to go in. BUT let's face it, they are a live band not a studio band. I find it amazing that they turned, rock, and blues, and bluegrass, and jazz, and everything else they did into something so magical.
At the same time I get sad just thinking about it. Before I forget I also wanted to thank all the tapers out there who made it all possible for people like us toneven have a forum to discuss a particular a how....I mean that's fucking awesome. But getting back to my original point here...sometimes I get sad knowing that's its over. I mean there are a ton of cover bands, and of course you have Furthur but we all know it will never be the same. There is no way that it ever could be. On the flip side that's cool to, because to much of anything just sucks.
Thanks for listening to the rant.....just having an off night.

I think you said it perfectly. The shows, waiting for the next album. I dig what you're saying. At the same time, with so many years having past, it is sad.
The cosmic conundrum.
Thank you for the rant. Keep the tunes crankin'.
