I have to admit that I have seen the movie The Big Lebowski just few days ago for the first time Embarassed

Yes I was inspired by Duderino Laughing

Then a little search on the web and .... this is funny ....

Dudeism is a religion whose primary objective is to promote a philosophy and lifestyle represented by the character of "the Dude" in the Coen Brothers' 1998 film The Big Lebowski

Link to the holy book itself:

Yes, there is a whole cult of "Dudeists" out there. I have 4 Big Lebowski inspired T-shirts. There are Lebowskifests, a book called, "I'm a Lebowksi, You're a Lebowski: Life, The Big Lebowski, and what have you" put out by the guys who started lebowskifest and some good websites. I always liked the movie, but really got into it about 5 years ago because I was on a bowling team - we were (relatively) young and hip compared to the other teams, some of whom were geriatrics. This one guy came in with the Lebowski book and all of us re-watched the movie and started quoting the film while bowling.
"this isn't 'Nam, this is bowling, there are rules!"

Yeah ... I started to look up at the web just today but I remember that Dogstarz have found this Dudeism site I didn't quite "get" at the time. So, my brother have this movie and told me that I have to whatch it and that this Lebowski is just like the Grateful Dead fans style.

Obviously I didn't give him a minute of attention but then I gave it a try and had fun.

I admire the ambition in people but I think that things have gotten out of control lately everybody is on the run with no time for notthing so I think that to slow down a while and the "take it easy" philosophy is a good thing.

.... besides I am a avid Dylan fan and it was a surprise to hear that Dylan tune at the beginning of the movie. I have some concert version ... not the studio one.

I also love the scene where Dude rolls the joint in the car listening to that Creedence tune and then the joint falls down and tha car just bups .... I mean so out of any sense within the context of the plot, so unespected .... and this is fun, just like a weird unespected GD solo! Just now I undestand that Creedence verse "dude, dude, looking at my backdoor", I thought it was "do it, do it looking at my backdoor" (a little more perverted but ..... wrong) Laughing
