At LivePhish.com there is a free download. It seems to be a sampler of the summer 2010 tour.

Here's the link for the courious:

thanks for the heads up, tizi. I haven't listened to any Phish for a few years, so this seems like a fine excuse to get caught up Smile

yes I have a mixed feeling about them! I like the strange sound and solos of Trey's guitar, and also the pianoman is great. But then I don't always like their "bluegrass" kinda songs or the vacuum cleaner and a capella songs.

So I am curious ... I listen to some of them but I go back to the GD in a few hours!

yeah, I was heavily into them when I was much younger, from 94-97, when it felt like they really were breaking some new ground. They were never really a "Dead for the 90's" though -- they had a much wider range of influences and a much more humorous "silly" side to them (ala Zappa, I guess) which I loved at the time, but has paled severely since then. Their old stuff still sounds fine to me, but it's hard to know how much of it is nostalgia...

I did enjoy listening to this new stuff, though. As technically accomplished as Fishman and Gordon are, though, the rhythm section stills feels like the thing that kinda sinks them for me. imho, of course.

My problem with them, to take from swami, is that they don't... I mean, Trey doesn't.... know how to space the music out at all.
Trey always goes too far, and loses my interest... ends up sounding like Joel Satriani or whoever it is... can't remember his exact name, and am probably way off...

Yes I agree with Koch about the "space"-ing in a lot's of Trey's solo they tend to loose the "soul" and are self indulgent at times ...

then again I love such tunes as The Divided Sky, Piper, Slave to the traffic lights.

On the other side a beloved tune such as Down with the disease is notthing special to me!

So, when I want to turn off the GD a bit I listen to some Phish but (at least for now) I get back to GD!

I feel "something" attracting in Phish music which I have to discover, but then I have also somethnig that pushes me away ... the most of the lyrics are ridiculus.

Here to explain Phis music I say that it is a blend between Zappa and Led Zeppelin: I now it is not correct but to european it makes enough sense ... if interessed they will try it!

I got a real kick out of the title for this one, Live Bait. It just so happens that my wife had ordered and received a copy of Live Bait by a band called the Arrogant Worms about two weeks ago. They are a pseudo parody band from Canada. It appears that Phish and Worms go well together! Who knew?
