Okay, time to throw it down. Your top 10 GD songs of all time, in order. The only criteria is that it be single songs only (no votes for China>Rider, Scarlet>Fire or Weather Report Suite allowed).

Here's mine. Nothing too shocking...

3. Terrapin Station
4. The Other One
5. Eyes of the World
6. Here Comes Sunshine
7. The Eleven
8. Comes a Time
9. Stella Blue
10. Bird Song

Impossible question really, but today it would be:

Dark Star
Playin'
Estimated
Space
Feedback
The Other One
Slipknot!
The Eleven
Truckin'
Help On The Way

And yes, I am aware that 2 of those may not constitute 'songs'

The difficulty of this choice -- and the propensity for these choices to change -- is what makes this fun. I considered all kinds of wild card choices, but in the end, I'm pretty sure I nailed down the core ten. I feel bad for omitting Truckin, Let it Grow, Estimated, New Speedway and Cumberland. I would have liked to have included Scarlet or To Lay Me Down as well. So many tough choices, but 'when push comes to shove' (that one was not in the running, hee hee), I chose what I chose.

No propensity for change, certainty of change, in my case... just from looking, I had originally omitted LIG! Yikes! Pushing Stranger off the list... Yikes again.

Yes, you bring up good points S&R, I mean it isn't like you have to answer at the pearly gates for your song preferences... or do you?

I've been holding off on this because it's so hard to pick. But, in order to swim, you have to get wet, so here goes. (In no particular order)

Eyes Of The World
Dark Star
St. Stephen
The Eleven
The Other One
Slipknot!
Terrapin Station
Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks)
Morning Dew
Viola Lee Blues

Good God! What a set list THAT would be!

Honorable mention for Here Comes Sunshine

I just looked this over and the most songs I share with anyone is 5. Generally I only matched about 3. I suppose it's more proof we all get something different from the same experiences.

And that the GD have a really cool song library.

Not to mention how extensive that library is. I saw where someone picked 10 per singer, which is also pretty cool. I do feel like I was a little heavy on the Jerry tunes. But, with a catalog of tunes as massive as that of the GD, even rarities like Big Boy Pete have an endearing charm. Perhaps not an all time favorite GD song, but their version is my favorite.
