My mom took me to see The Duke Ellington Orchestra in Rancho Bernardo (San Diego) when I was 17 or so. Also went to Count Basie/Joe Pass/Ella Fitzgerald at Golden Hall prior to seeing Grateful Dead there.

Anyone else see shows with their parents?

Was your Dad a TV producer or something? Very cool that you could be in the audience. Reminds me of old Soupy Sales or Sonny Fox on Wonderama shows on WNEW in New York.

I remember me and my dad sharing these tender moments.

Dad : So you think war is cool huh?

Me: silence.....

That war was the mitigating factor in my politics to this day. Luckily, my father was outspoken against it. And luckily, so was the Grateful Dead.

My Dad toook my brother and I to see The Benny Goodman Quartet at Carnegie Hall. Teddy Wilson on piano. Don't remember the drummer or bass player. Stephan Grapelli made a guest appearance.

The Jacksons (Victory Tour), 1984

The Michael Stanley Band, 1986

Ray Charles (Parents Weekend), 1989

I know there were a couple where my mom or dad drove and waited outside. Smile

I took my (very straight) parents to see Ratdog when I was living in Knoxville (I think it was 1999), it was a small theater and it was ok, I think they had a good time but it was a little weird that people around us were smoking pot. My dad mentioned something about the aroma. Haha.

I went with my Dad and two of his friends to see Jeff Beck last night Very Happy

There have been many.. music is one of the few things we really connect on.

B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood, Steely Dan.

We have tickets to go see Chick Corea and his freedom band later this summer. (Read: Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, and Zakir Hussain)

I've seen quite a few shows with my mom over the years, I know I'll leave some out, but:

The Grateful Dead several times

Ratdog

Phil and Friends

The Other Ones

The Dead

Linda Ronstadt

Simon and Garfunkel

Me'shell Ndegeocello

Man..or Astroman?

Southern Culture on the Skids

Cracker

Tangerine Dream

Bonecrusher

Bob Dylan (hell, she even saw Dylan with her father in '65, complete with people screaming "sell-out" and leaving at the beginning of the electric set)

That's more than I thought it would be. Ironically, I don't think I ever went to a concert with my dad. That's a shock.

The Little Debbie cannon, riding shopping carts through the crowd, using a ray gun noise maker thing to play the guitar, the homemade electronics, the jumpsuits and helmets...those were fun shows.

My dad had to work for the weekend and i got roped into seeing Liza Minnelli with my mom for her birthday about two years ago. The guy at the drink stand sold me wine at 18 years old because i guess he thought i was her husband. So between that and a joint before the show, id call it a bearable night Laughing

- Doobie Brothers, Nasty Coliseum (my first concert) with Mom circa 1980
- Santana, Concerts on the Pier (got police escort to show and parked on 12th Avenue right across from the venue; got in for free - Dad's NYPD connections), with Mom circa 1984
- Zen Tricksters, private party, 1997 - Dad in attendance

Ratdog once with my mom and dad, four times with just my dad

Furthur 3 times with my dad

DSO three times with my dad

'The Dead' '09 once with my dad

Jemmiah Puddleduck once with my dad...that's Mark Karan's band(from Ratdog)....my father had Mark sign his Ratdog shirt in the bathroom between sets Laughing

A few Allman Brothers concerts with my dad, only cause Ratdog opened for them...saw Widespread/Allman's at my brother's bachelor party September '09 after hitting the wineries on the Finger Lakes....Allmans = zzz for me, loved Panic!

I love seeing shows with my dad, it's nice to be able to get hammered and not have to worry about driving home, and he always pays for my ticket, awesome papa Cool

Took my Dad and my girlfriend to go see Neil Diamond at Fenway Park couple years ago. Probably one of the best concerts I've ever seen before. Lots of "Cougars" on the prowl there. Can't think of anything else I've seen with my parents.....

....until June 23rd when I'm going to see Neil Diamond again with them. An early Christmas present from my Dad, he was too excited to wait to tell me.
