Ok, there is a way to do this... something about going into your temp files, or something...

Does anyone know how to do it?

Anything you stream should go directly into your temp folder...

...but if you download RealPlayer, you can rip videos or songs and save them in your My Videos folder. This includes everything from youtube vids to archive.org shows and GD Hour streams on dead.net. The only thing that I've come across that has been blocked from downloading is stuff from dead.net's Taper's Section.

Which temp folder... what should the path be?

C:/WINDOWS/Temp/Temporary Internet Files

Or should I drop the last part.

I ask because, you can stream concerts of Jefferson Airplane at Wolfgang's Vault, and those are... needed.
By the way, you can stream concerts from MANY bands there.

If you have a good audio editing program (like Sony Sound Forge) that can digitize analog input and a decent sound card here's an alternate audio capture method you could use:

- Get a cable that has a 1/8" stereo plug on both ends.
- Plug one end into the line output jack on the back panel of your PC.
- Then plug the other end into the line input jack (not the mic input jack).
- Open your volume control panel.
- In the Options menu select "Properties."
- The "Playback" button is selected by default; click on the "Recording" button. That opens your recording properties control panel. Leave that window open.
- Open your audio editing program and set it to record analog input via your computer's line input.
- Set the level controls in your recording properties control panel and in your editing program to the desired levels for recording.
- Hit "record" or "arm" and start your stream.

Not to be totally picky, but...
I am looking for one that automatically will separate the tracks, so I don't have to sit there while it goes to work and press "split" or whatever.

I found one, called "REPLAY", and am DLing from demonoid. I will report back with my findings.

I agree that it's good to have track separation. I'm going to check out the Temp folder options, and I'd also like to hear about any programs you investigate.

I think that direct DL and direct playback of the downloaded files will yield better sound quality than live internet streaming, so it's good that we're looking into saving the files to disk.

Happy Friday!
