Take - these broken links
And learn to fly again
Learn to live so free

And when we hear
The voices sing
The book of love will open up
And let us in

The moment i read that i made somewhat of a difference was just one of those moments i had "volunteers" by Jefferson Airplane in my head, how delightfully corny!!! proud to be helping out the only community ive ever felt at home/apart of Very Happy

66: 5/19, thats it for that year!

67: 10/22(i miss this show dearly, its been awhile)

68: 1/17, 1/23, 2/14, 5/xx(SBD), 8/21(good show, still have from speeding arrow), 8/23, 11/1, 11/6, 12/21,

69: 1/24, 3/29, 4/6, 4/15, 4/21(this shows hot as i recall), 4/22(this whole run actually), 4/23, 5/29, 5/30, 8/21, 8/23, 9/1, 9/26, 9/27, 11/2(gotta love this DS!), 12/26, 12/29

There ya go everything from the 60's, a truely fantastic era for the dead. Tomorrow night ill tackle 70-72, i really feel good about making this contribution and i plan on followin through each night till i reach the end. so until nexttime, goodnight everybody!

You list 12/1/71 both as set 1 sbd and set 2 sbd. Actually both listings you have are set 2. They are both the same music from set 2.

I'm seeing a few broken links in '73. Specifically, this link for 6/29/73 goes to an unavailable page at archive.org:

Fixed it.

Yes, some of the links are broken, but if you post here, I can get them updated... and then once updated, they shouldn't have to be updated again.

Anyhow, welcome aboard JL

Thanks for the amazingly fast work! I'm going through 1973 right now, so I'll be sure to pass along any others I come across.

I'm also noticing that the zip download link normally doesn't work. Is this par for the course? Or fixable? I don't mind dl'ing tunes one at a time, but I thought you might want to know. An example:

only the directions in the direction reliably work... you can also DL the FLACs of AUDs...

if you use the technique in the instructions, its pretty much faster than DLing the zip file, seriously

I don't know if there is a way to get zip reliably, but the technique here, if followed step by step, does, as long as the link hasn't expired:

I am not sure what else to say but thank you for your efforts in making this music available. As I turn 57 tomorrow, this music has been a major part of my life. SO again, thank you. There are a few links I came across that do not work.9/15/73, 12/27/78, 4/11/87, 4/14/88, 4/15/88, 7/19/89, 7/23/90, 12/8/90, 4/27/91, 6/22/91, 3/10/93, 5/515/93, 3/18/94. Can you help out this old electronically challenged person with a question please? There are a few shows from '74 that when opened show only SHN. Is there some way to open those to download? I do use Traders Little Helper at times for use with Etree. My main focus is shows from the 70's. I have about 1600 discs of primarily '70s Dead. Well, thanks again for your efforts. Is there any sight that has Jerry shows besides Etree? I am always looking to increase my listing of Jerry shows especially from '72-'76.

Unfortunately, the shows from 74 that are SHN now, that means they are probably now official releases, and not able to be downloaded.
As for the rest, will get them fixed... there seems to be a problem with the source (archive) right now.

All reported broken links are now fixed.

Please continue to report. Any repairs done now should be permanent. The initial linkage was done on a temporary link basis (unbeknownst at the time). Any fixes have corrected this to permanent linkage.

If you're waiting for these links to get fixed, try a little manipulation of the link when you click it and it isn't there. A lot of times I've found that the show is still there, but the number proceeding the words in the link has been changed. They used to start with a 31XXXX number, but it looks to me like the new links start with a 36XXXX number. If you guess right, you'll get a message that will direct you to the links.

Thanks for all the GREAT GRATE posts and links!

I meant to ask you too, on shows like 6.8 and 5.28 both of 1977, if FLAC or SHN comes up like on those, does that automatically mean it can not be downloaded? That was my assumption but not sure. I am replacing some of my lost files/shows I used to have, thanks for all the work on this site!!!

Found a few others for you today too besides the ones earlier mentioned. 6.8 & 9.77, 9.30.81, 11.2.84, 6.25.93, and 12.3.79. I have to go back in to 77 and 89 for some, so I will report back if needed.

Ok 77 looked ok for what I needed except the 6.8, 69 and 5.28. Maybe these are releases too I am drawing a blank on.

In 89, 2/10, 2/11, 4/2, 4/3 and 7/13 did not work for me. Not sure if these are releases too or not. I will try to look into them.

Im done for today, hope these finds help out

I'd appreciate it greatly if someone could check the links for 7/7/69 and 10/26/69. I'm having trouble with both of them.

Thank you.

In fact, I have asked the answer man to stop being so lazy and to provide new links for us (and to get a new avatar). He has done 65-69 so far, with more to come.

Welcome aboard matey.
The answer man is currently in the process of fixing all the links. He has already done 65-71, and today will probably do 72.
Therefore, it will probably be a week or so before he gets to 77. Be patient and it shall be released.

Ah, sorry, I didn't realize that fixing links was an ongoing process. Thanks for the heads up. I look forward to appreciating these great shows again soon. Also, big ups to whomever is fixing these, seems like an involved effort.

It won't be on the download list for Grateful Dead since it is a Phil show. However, check this out:

Is that the case? Like 8-6-71? I can't get the mp3?

You should be able to get the MP3 for any show that wasn't an official release. You can also get the FLAC for AUD shows.

If it was an official release, we do not offer it here.

To my knowledge 8-6-71 is not a official release, but I only see FLAC files offered. Can I get this show in mp3?

The songs from 8-6-71 were on the BONUS disc which is not available now,

I guess it's still counts as a commercial release, but if you can't get it anymore is that justification to make it available again ? Just a thought .....

Basically, anytime a show is even partially released, they black out the entire show... sometimes people post "outtakes" and those are still accessible... it sucks, but it is what it is, you know what I mean?

You are right in a sense, but the Fillmore 69 are not available, for example, and you can't get those either...
I wish it were different (I believe it would be if Jerry was still around).

Found the following not working:

8/5/70
8/19/70

11/14/71 - only in .shn
11/15/71 - only in .flac
Are these two dates available as vbr.mp3?

12/31/71

Appreciate it... sorry I put in the wrong spot. Don't do these forums too much and hit post instead of reply.

No problem, just trying to keep this area tidy...
Unfortunately, most of the links you mentioned are beyond my ability to fix...
8/5/70 - this one I fixed
8/19/70 - this was working for me, try again, perhaps with a different web browser
11/14/71 - official release
11/15/71 - official release
12/31/71 - not sure why this isn't working, a problem with the source that I cannot fix... maybe it will be better later.
