Anyhow, time to break out those trusty lists of the "theme song" of the GD...
7/4/81
4/7/84
11/21/85
4/27/91
5/26/93
6/6/93
I will obviously need to come back to edit this list about 100 times...

This is a tough one because, for me, there are a lot of great versions of PITB. I know this is entirely subjective, but to my ear PITB has had the greatest percentage of interesting jams out of all their music. My favorite one?.... Quite often it is the last one I listened to.

Also I'm a sucker for 10/4 time.

2.17.73 has a very tasty jam. Phil is on.

3.24.73 might be my favorite of all-time.

I just listened to the version on Dick Pick 32 last night, I can't remember the date but it is 1982. It is only 11 minutes long, or so, but very powerful.

A few days ago I listened to Sacramento 1993 on the Road Trip. That one is pretty damn good.

Maybe not all-time faves, but the two I most recently listened to and both are great. Obviously Cal Expo is legendary and the DP32 is never mentioned, but both very worthy efforts. There are times in the 93 that Garcia seems lost in a haze of effects, which is a little bit of a drawback.

The Sacramento one is 5/26/93 I think... and man, that thing keeps going and going and going. LOVE it.
Definitely in the Top 5 PITBs ever.

Good lord, that would be hard to say. Only if there's about 40 in the top five...

5/21/74. That version is 46 minutes long and I never get tired of listening to it. I could listen to that version every night and not get sick of it. I think it starts out so powerful, and then just goes into such an amazing long ass jam, and then come out of the jam and finish the sog. Truly a monster in my book, that I will never get sick of listening to.
