This show is the Download series release that was also made into a PBS special on the San Francisco music scene in 1970. I have watched the PBS documentary several times but it does not seem to do this show justice...This is a solid release, and a very solid, short show. It was only 10 days before the famous Fillmore East run, and it sounds every bit as good. Check out the setlist...

Hard To Handle
Black Peter
Me & My Uncle
China Cat Sunflower>
I Know You Rider
St. Stephen>
Not Fade Away>
St. Stephen>
In The Midnight Hour
Dancing in the Streets(Bonus Material)
Monkey And The Engineer (Bonus Material)
Good Lovin' (Bonus Material)

The highlight is definately the St. Stephen>NFA>St. Stephen>Midnight Hour. Pig is completely off his ass during this show. He sounds excellent. Perfect example of what I love about Piggy. Also, this show has a little slower tempo than most from '70, which works in its favor.

I was in San Francisco last summer and had dinner at The Cliff House. Incredible seafood and what a view!! I had no idea until today the The Family Dog was right across the street from that place. I guess it used to be a roller rink or some shit.....It is a vacant lot now I guess. Anyway, upon relisten I think this show is worth a revisit.....PEace

I've got a video DVD from this show, featuring:
Grateful Dead
    Hard To Handle
    China > Rider

Santana
    Incident At Neshabur
    Soul Sacrifice

Jefferson Airplane
The Ballad of You, Me and Poonell
    Eskimo Blue Day

plus "All star" jam.

I'm quite happy to vine it if anyone's interested Smile

I love any old footage of Carlos as well.....That dude always looks so into it, like in a trance or something. Probably more like a hallucination.....
