Thanks for getting me to listen to this, Morticia!
Garcia is in fine form indeed! And, its a SBD, not a ton of those floating around from Jerry's side projects. I am just at the end of the Sugaree, first track, and am already sold.

Very light noise reduction (pure sample) applied to make the tape hiss a bit less noticeable.

Dropout at 6:04 in After Midnight and at 10:20 of Harder They Come.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Mr. K, it's my all-time favourite Jerry Garcia live show (GD or JGB) - the whole band are just 'on' for the entire show.

'Positively 4th Street' is just so sublime.

Actually, that's a song I have always really liked, Eric Clapton (who I am not a great fan of at all BTW) did a nice version on his eponymous 1970 album

I have liked the song ever since then.
For me though, the highlight of this song is the Ozzie Ahlers' piano solo. It is just totally, totally fabbo.
So much so, that I asked him how he got that amazing electric piano sound via his website last year. I got this lovely reply from him in person Shocked

Hi Morticia-
I played a Fender Rhodes but it was tricked out by Chuck Monte - Dyno My Piano, so it had alot of hi end. I also played an Oberheim OBX. I can't believe I remembered that, but it was my first polyphonic synth after all those corny single note Moogs. It also had a classic string and crunch synth sound. Hope all is good in your life.

So as well as being a huge fan of Ozzie's playing, I think he is a really nice man to take the time to answer my question in person.
I even forgive him that mullet haircut:

Excellent show recomendation. I finally got around to it. Ozzie's keys are also blazing during Russian Lullaby. John Kahn sounds fantastic as well. Oh and that Jerry guy isn't bad either. I think he has the potential to be one of the greats.

PS Congrats on the response from Ozzie. Very cool of him.
